The community member is experiencing issues with the WhatsApp integration in Typebot. They note that the first user message is not collected, even when using a Text Input Block. Additionally, they mention that while text messages and file uploads work as expected, if a user sends an image with text, the text is lost. The community members discuss potential workarounds, such as using other platforms like Messagebird, and suggest creating GitHub issues to address these problems. The Typebot team acknowledges the issues and indicates they are working to prioritize and implement fixes.
While using the Whatsapp (official) integration, looks like the first user messages only starts the flow, but it's not collected. Even if my very first block is a Text Input Block. Is it possible to collect the very first user message from Whatsapp?
Also: If the user sends a text message I get a text message. If the user sends an file I get a URL (while using the Text Input Block). But, if the user sends an image with a text, the text is lost. Any workarround to avoid this situation?
Typebot is an excellent platform, but in relation to integration with WhatsApp there are still many small details missing.
I think it's useful for simple automations, but if you're looking for something more complex, try using Messagebird, it's excellent for WhatsApp in the sense you're looking for.
I use Messagebird for create smart flows and huggy.io to talk with the customer on a inbox, these 2 platforms can work together.
