GA Event Tracking in Chat Flow

At a glance

A community member is experiencing an issue with Google Analytics (GA) implementation in their chat flow. They have added tracking blocks for "Chat_Start" and "Chat_End" events, but during testing, they noticed that both events are being reported to GA even when the chat is not completed. The community member is seeking guidance on how to ensure that the "Chat_End" event only triggers upon actual chat completion. Other community members have requested a screenshot or screen recording to better understand the issue, and have suggested using the GA debugger tool to troubleshoot the problem.

Hello Community,

I would appreciate your help with a Google Analytics (GA) implementation issue.

I've added GA tracking blocks in my chat flow (see attached screenshot) to capture events for Chat_Start and Chat_End. However, during testing, I noticed that both events are reported to GA, even if I haven't completed the chat.

Has anyone else encountered this issue or know why this might be happening? Any guidance on how to ensure Chat_End only triggers upon actual chat completion would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your support!

There is no screenshot?
So you are saying that Chat_End is tracked at the beginning as well? What makes you think that?
Yes, when testing the chat flow, I see that both events are tracked in GA, even though I only opened the chat window and did not start the chat flow
Can you provide a screen recording that shows the issue? are you using GA debugger ? https://docs.typebot.io/editor/blocks/integrations/google-analytics#troubleshooting
